This album was recorded on a cheap portable Philips tape recorder with a built-in radio & microphone. It was recorded mainly in March 1997 when I spent a month in Salzburg due to an exchange program. I was a student then. I was becoming 22. It was a strange month. The comet Hale-Bopp was clearly visible. My exchange colleague, if you could him that, Daniel was in the other room most of the time. We were very different. Going on an exchange was maybe the most exciting to do in a school I didn't really wanted to be. Then again, a month in Salzburg wasn't all that exciting either. I might have been confused about a girl too. Anyway, as you can read in the original liner notes, it was all very awkward. If there's one thing these recordings captured, it certainly is that vibe.

Each side of the tape concluded with a bunch of tracks I made at home on my fourtrack minidisc:
